How To Kill It On The Karaoke Machine

One of the best ways to really get the party going, whether it’s a corporate event, a wedding or someone’s birthday, is to hire a karaoke machine and get everyone up on the LED dance floor, bopping away as their friends sing (or murder) the classics.

It’s often harder than you may think to grab that microphone and start belting out a few tunes - so don’t be surprised if you’re hit with stage fright on the day itself. You certainly won’t be alone!

But there are a few tips and tricks you can employ to give you a bit more confidence when you take to the stage… the first one being to make sure you pick the right song.

You might think you love the chorus of a song and it could well be catchy but bear in mind that if there’s a lengthy guitar solo, you’ll be standing around without much to do. If a song is quite repetitive, it’s likely to be a bad choice - and friends and family may be stood there silently wishing you’d bring the misery to an end.

Knowing your audience is also key, so if you know that there are lots of people in the crowd that love a particular song, it might be worth picking that one as they’ll be on your side immediately, singing along.

Having fun is also absolutely key. If you’re not enjoying yourself, it’s unlikely that your audience will be either. Have a few drinks, choose a song, practice a bit before the big day… and away you go!

Check out some karaoke apps if you really want to wow the crowds at your event.
